Summer morning with photographer in Prague: Olga and Aleksej

It is always so nice to recollect amazing summer morning, which I, as a photographer in Prague, spent with my couples. Some of them planned an engagement or honeymoon trip to Czech Republic, the others just wanted to have beautiful photos from a beautiful city. Among the latter, were my friends from Russia: Olga and Aleksej.

We went for a photo shooting around Prague in one of the June mornings. I wanted to show my new friends the most attractive places of the city being free of tourists. There are only two options to do so: either to walk at night or early in the morning. Guess which variants was chosen?

Rushing for the light

Taking into consideration possible floods of tourists, we decided to go to Charles Bridge at first — one of the most magic places of Prague. There are numerous legends and stories about each character commemorated in status of the bridge. And I do know many of them, because it is very important to give couples such kind of information, that can help to feel the atmosphere.

John of Nepomuk (Jan Nepomucký) is one of the most famous Czech Saint. He protects love. His sculpture is not only symbol of commemoration of the greatest priest but the place, where one can make a wish. You can do it only once a year and your wish will come true for sure. The legend was checked on my own experience.

Charles Bridge was built on magical date 135797531 – July 6, 1357 at 5.31. This place attracted artists, photographers and beauty lovers. The Bridge played one of the key roles in the development of the city and country, as well as it used to be one of the biggest stone bridge in the world for more then 500 years. To my mind this attraction is number one among the rest of must see places of the city and it is an indispensable part of Prague photography.

Gardens and magic light of June

Prague in June is just fantastic: gardens look fresh and attractive, streets are full of light and shadows and the mood is creative. So to enjoy the city with maximum results we planned to Wallenstein Garden (Valdštejnský sad) near Malostranska metro station, which is a real example of harmony of nature and modern city. There one can find peacocks, magnolia, golden fishes and the wall from stalactites, where figures of animals are shaped.

  • Wallenstein Garden is open for visitors from April, 1 till October, 31.
  • Working hours: Mon. – Fr. 7.30 a.m. – 6.00 p.m, Sat. – Sun. 10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.
  • Official web-site: www.senat.cz
  • Note: the best time to visit the Garden is any of working days from 7.30 to 9.00 a.m.

John Lenon’s Wall and streets

The brightest attraction of Prague is named after one of the most popular singers in the World: John Lennon Wall. This is the place where one can express personal ideas, views and problems with help of a can and fantasy. Unfortunately more and more tourists would take as rule to leave a tag on the Wall without clear vision of what they do, which makes John Lennon Wall look massy.

In order to get charged with positive energy we decided to take some romantic pictures in front of the attraction. Being a photographer in Prague I can assure you that the wall is like a creature that changes every day: it breaths and becomes sometimes unique and sometimes ugly.
